Year Three Report | September 2018

Hunger-Free Lancaster County, comprised of more than 30 local and regional organizations, is committed to one mission: building a hunger-free Lancaster County by creating a nutritious, accessible, and sustainable food system.

Today, our coalition is eager to share highlights from our third year.

Some notable accomplishments from this year:

  • Food Insecurity  Lancaster’s food insecurity number when we started was 11.4% (59,280 people).  Today that number is down to 9.8% (52,160 people).
  • Focus on Fresh Foods  Our goal is not simply filling bellies; Hunger-Free Lancaster County is committed to ensuring that everyone is able to get healthy meals.
  • Extending our Goals  Originally planned to end in 2018, we are extending our mission and recommitting our goals through the end of 2020.
