Friday, May 4 | 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank works with over 250 youth program partners throughout the region to ensure that many of these children have enough to eat year-round. Nevertheless, hunger still affects far too many children and their families. At the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, we believe that no one should be hungry, and especially no child should be hungry, so we are hosting an inaugural Child Hunger Summit for the region, free of charge and open to all, on May 4th at The Church of the Good Shepherd located at 867 Grays Woods Blvd in Port Matilda, PA 16870.
Health professionals, educators, social service workers, and hunger fighters from across central Pennsylvania will convene for a day of three-part workshops centered around addressing childhood hunger. The workshops will begin with topic foundations, then bring in experts to share their real experiences, and end with a hands-on training so that all attendees leave equipped to make a difference in their communities.
Attendees may choose one of four workshop pathways:
Program Growth and Innovation
Food for the Family
Child Health & Nutrition
Advocacy and Coalition Building
